Who Can Apply?
Students from I3 to 4th year of ESO enrolled in public and subsidized (concertados) schools in Barcelona whose families have income below the established thresholds can apply for individual meal aid through their educational center. The Barcelona Education Consortium manages these aids through a public call for applications.
Financial Support Available
The program offers two types of aid:
- Ordinary aid: Covers 70% of meal costs
- Extraordinary aid: Up to 100% coverage for families with the greatest need
Meal prices for the 2025-2026 academic year:
- €7.54 for schools with midday periods lasting up to 2.5 hours
- €7.13 for schools with midday periods lasting up to 2 hours
Applications are evaluated based on 2024 family income, with aid prioritized for the lowest income brackets according to poverty thresholds established by IDESCAT and approved by the Parliament of Catalonia.

- First period: September 8-24, 2025
- Second period: September 25 – November 30, 2025
- Third period: December 1, 2025 – March 1, 2026
- Fourth period: March 2, 2026 until the last day new admissions are accepted for 2025-2026

Important Notice: The definitive resolution for the third open period of the 2024-2025 call was published on May 16, 2025. Families have until June 19, 2025 to submit an appeal if needed.
